Information leaked via SteamDB indicates that Sackboy: A Big Adventure will be the next PlayStation exclusive to receive a PC port.
Recently leaked information suggests Sackboy: a great adventure will mark the next big Playstation exclusive to migrate to computer. This isn’t the first time leaked details have hinted at Sackboy’s Adventure 2020 potentially appearing on non-PlayStation platforms. The title was among those listed in the massive GeForce Now leak, which hit the web in mid-September.
Sony Interactive Entertainment’s interest in bringing its exclusive projects to PC shows no signs of slowing down. The first of these ports arrived in August 2020, with the launch of Horizon: Zero Dawn on Steam and Epic Games Store. Details in one of the publisher’s financial reports later confirmed that Sony had achieved a 250% return on investment with Horizon PC output. Since, Days Gone has also launched on Steam and EGS. God of the war will make the jump in January 2022, the publisher recently announced. At last month’s digital PlayStation Showcase event, Sony unveiled the PS5 and PC versions of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which is expected to hit stores in early 2022.
Redditor penguin6245 (via user Twitter Nibel), recently found a SteamDB page that points to a possible PC version for Sackboy: a great adventure. The Reddit user identified two major clues, one being a mention of the name of the repository “Content of the marmalade“- The Marmalade Project was the designation for Sackboy in the aforementioned GeForce Now leak. A second giveaway resides in a SteamDB branch called “sumoqa, “a possible link to A great adventure Sumo Digital developer.
While all of the above sound and seem incredibly convincing, the Sackboy the leak should not be taken at face value yet. It’s certainly not beyond the realm of possibility, however. After all, if Sony is ready to bring Playstation touchstones like Unexplored and God of the war To computer, it seems reasonable to assume that virtually everything is on the table.
Crossed out by LittleBigPlanet 3 Sumo Digital developer, Sackboy: a great adventure hit store shelves for PS4 and PS5 in late 2020 just in time for the launch of the new console. The production team also continues to support the platformer with DLC releases, the most recent of which introduced new skins inspired by The Last of Us Part II‘s Ellie and Abby.
