Activision acquires developer Digital Legends for unannounced mobile game Call of Duty


Today, Activision provided many updates for its Call of Duty franchise, including the acquisition of Digital Legends and its impact on COD for mobile platforms.

Call of Duty has had a big day overall with massive news for all of its current titles.

Activision released a massive update for Warzone and Call of Duty: Vanguard earlier today.

There are certainly reasons to be excited if you are a Call of Duty: Mobile gamer.

Aside from all the announcements made for console and PC COD titles, Activision has announced some exciting news for Call of Duty on mobile platforms.

Acquisition of Digital Legends by Activision – Upcoming Call of Duty mobile game

Activision aims to accelerate the development of its new mobile game coming to the Call of Duty universe by acquiring Digital Legends.

Via a press release and tweet, Activision welcomed mobile developer Digital Legends to the COD company and franchise.

Activision has confirmed that Digital Legends supports the ongoing development of an unannounced Call of Duty mobile game.

The company also praised the mobile development trajectory of its newly acquired studio.

Activision mentioned that Digital Legends is already well integrated with the business. The studio cooperated with Activision during this year.

This co-op doesn’t mean the upcoming Call of Duty mobile game is just around the corner. However, this shows that Activision aims to accelerate development as much as possible.

Currently, Beenox and Activision Shanghai are developing the unannounced COD mobile game.

Aside from the apparent increase in the development workforce, there weren’t any additional details on this upcoming COD mobile title.

Speculation is high with this one. Some fans consider this unannounced title to be Warzone Mobile.
