AH Reader’s Choice Awards 2021: Best Mobile Game

Riot has outdone himself and our readers are taking note

Our readers have spoken, and the best mobile game of 2021 is League Of Legends: Wild Rift, which earned it our AH Reader’s Choice Awards badge for the year. Since this was also our own pick for the best mobile game, we weren’t too surprised with the votes. However, it’s worth mentioning that this isn’t a landslide like with the best smartwatch, where the Galaxy Watch 4 was ahead of any other option listed.

And to be completely transparent, League of Legends: Wild Rift is not a true winner of the AH Reader’s Choice Awards. It’s actually related with Diablo Immortal. Now we know what you are probably thinking. Diablo Immortal is yet to be released and is only available to a select group of players from a few different regions as part of a closed beta.

This is why we were a little surprised that it is on par with a fully launched game that almost anyone can play. That being said, Diablo Immortal is a fantastic mobile game, and it certainly deserves the votes it got. That said, Diablo Immortal hasn’t officially launched and Wild Rift has. So we chose to showcase Wild Rift more for this price.

League Of Legends: Wild Rift Is Popular With Gamers, And It’s Easy To See Why

Look, Diablo Immortal is a great game. And we can’t wait for its release. Many players are also looking forward to it. But, League Of Legends: Wild Rift is here now, and it’s just as popular with gamers. And we get it.

It’s not often that you find such a good representation of an AAA game ported to the mobile platform. It’s rare, but Riot has managed to do it in a way that is both engaging and inspiring. The players have certainly noticed it.

League of Legends was already a popular game. So it was ready to perform well on mobile if it was done right. And Riot most certainly did it well. Not only does it have that familiar League Of Legends feel, but it’s been perfectly streamlined for mobile devices.

Shorter matches, easier controls and a growing range of champions, but still currently wide, to add some diversity to the lineup. All of these things and more help to explain why this game is doing so well. And why our readers voted for League Of Legends: Wild Rift to be the best mobile game of 2021 for the AH Reader’s Choice Awards.

It also helps that the game is free like its PC counterpart. And while micro-transactions are also present in this version of the game, they are not overbearing like they are with some games. Which makes a big difference.

If you haven’t tried League of Legends: Wild Rift yet, we highly recommend that you check it out. Even if you are completely new to the MOBA gaming genre. This is a game that you are going to want to try. Riot also does a great job teaching new players how to play. So don’t be afraid of not knowing the basic mechanics of the game. It all comes from practice.
