Batman will be the next famous literary figure to join the world of SINoALICE, the mobile RPG of Yoko Taro, the creator of Nier Automata.
Batman will bring his mark of justice to SINoALICEthe playable list of anime heroines.
The new collaboration was announced on official site for Square Enix’s literary-themed mobile game. SINoALICEThe newly redesigned version of Batman will be available to players starting September 16. Despite his aversion to the weapon, Batman will be a Gunner class character that players can add to their party. In addition to Batman, the crossover event trailer also teases newly redesigned designs for Harley Quinn and the Joker. The crossover event has been confirmed for release only to players in Japan at this time.
SINoALICE launched in Japan in 2017 and was led by Yoko Taro, the director of cult games such as Deny Replicant and Nier Automata. SINoALICE features an unlockable cast of characters made up of reimagined versions of classic literary icons, such as Alice from Alice in Wonderland, Dorothy of The Wizard of Oz, and Aladin from The thousand and One Nights. The mobile RPG was localized to English and released to the world in 2020. SINoALICE differs from Taro’s other work because it does not take place in the interconnected universe that the Deny and Drakengard game sharing.
Square Enix Books, the print publishing arm of the video game company, recently announced that it will locate and publish SINoALICEthe manga adaptation from outside of Japan. The manga focuses on the character of Alice, who leads a normal life in the real world until she begins to have violent nightmares that begin to bleed until her waking hours. Soon Alice is drawn into a brutal competition, where she must compete with other figures drawn from classical literature in order to bring their original creators back to life.
Batman fans looking to play as a more traditional version of the character may not have to wait any longer, as a rumored leak suggests the upcoming game in DC and Netherrealm’s Injustice series, which would be titled Injustice 3: the gods will fall, is in production. NetherRealm Studios recently completed production on the latest of Mortal Kombat 11DLC updates, which has led some fans to speculate if a new Injustice the game is in the works, as the developer has alternated work between the two series in recent years. Additionally, the supposed leak also contains a list for a remaster of Batman: Knight of Arkham, the open-world action game originally released for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2015. It should be noted that the veracity of the leak has been called into question, but if it’s true, it looks like to DC video game fans will have a lot to look forward to in the near future.
