During an after-profits call with investors, EA talked a lot about Battlefield 2042. As reported by VG247, EA has shared plans for the future of Battlefield 2042.
EA CEO Andrew Wilson said: “You have to understand that this really forms the basis of what we believe will be the future of a live service around Battlefield, which over time will include a mobile launch, will include free components, and will really change the nature of what happens from launch to launch.
Battlefield 2042 is expected to add various game modes and other elements to keep players engaged after launch. A mobile game and free components will bring even more players to the franchise. Wilson added, “While a launch every two years probably makes sense when we think about it today, we’re really focused on a 365-day commitment to the platform-level franchise on any platform. which device consumers may want to play on. “
EA is focused on making Battlefield 2042 a live service game. Wilson said, “I think you should look at Battlefield as a service – what we’re doing to launch this game is really revolutionizing and reimagining what our whole epic warfare is in the context of gameplay. On top of that, you’ve heard us announce Battlefield Portal, which is really starting to rely on user-generated content and will spark a deep, long-term engagement in the game.
Battlefield 2042 is slated for release on October 22 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, and Xbox One.
