Captain Toad Meets It Takes Two in co-op puzzle game Zorya: The Celestial Sisters

Check out the new trailer for Zorya: The Celestial Sisters, a co-op puzzle game that will be released early next year.

Zorya: The Celestial Sisters is a new co-op puzzle game that will arrive on Switch and PC via Steam and EGS next February. The game features a unique style of asymmetric cooperative play that combines the level design of Captain Toad Treasure Tracker with the communication and cooperation of It Takes Two.

Winner of the Ubisoft Montreal Game Lab competition, Zorya: The Celestial Sisters tells the story of Aysu, the night goddess who must travel the lands of Vyraj to find her sister Solveig, the sun goddess. The Separate Sisters each have unique mechanics and play styles, and players will need to work together to solve puzzles and navigate each level.

As Aysu, you can only move in the shadows as you go through each level. Fortunately, Solveig has the power to control the time of day and create dark paths for Aysu to travel. Each sister also has her own way of interacting with items and switches on each level. Using a beam of light from the sky, Solveig can attack enemies in daylight and activate light switches. Meanwhile, Aysu can control the power of the wind to push enemies out of the shadows and move objects to gain access to new areas. The sisters will have to combine their unique abilities to progress through each hand-crafted level, solve puzzles, and figure out how to come together.

Zorya: The Celestial Sisters is coming to Steam and the Epic Game Store on February 8, 2022 for $ 24.99. A Stellar edition will be available for $ 29.99, which includes the game’s soundtrack and a digital artbook. Zorya: The Celestial Sisters is also coming to Nintendo Switch, with details to be revealed later.

Check out the game’s all-new trailer (above) that shows off some of the unique interactions you’ll need to create by combining each sister’s abilities. Zorya: The Celestial Sisters aims to attract the large co-op audience that drove It Takes Two to six different Game Awards nominations, including the Game of the Year nomination.
