Genshin Impact has raised over $ 340 million on mobile platforms alone.
Genshin Impact continues to perform well for Mihoyo, even after gamers bombard his store pages on iOS and Android. According to Sensor tower, Genshin Impact took the # 1 spot for the world’s highest grossing mobile game in September, outclassing bigger rivals like PUBG Mobile and Honor of Kings.
Mihoyo made an additional $ 341.7 million last month, not counting the earnings of those of you on PC, PS4, or PS5. Sensor Tower data also reveals that the Chinese App Store was the largest source of that mobile revenue at just over 31%, while Japan and the United States hover around 21% each.
These September numbers look significantly higher than last year’s numbers around the same time, when Genshin Impact made nearly $ 250 million in its first month, making it one of the biggest mobile launches ever. Even at the start of this year, the RPG continued to overtake past favorites like Pokemon Go, and it hit the $ 2 billion mark by the time of its first anniversary.
Regardless of how you felt about Genshin Impact’s birthday rewards, Mihoyo’s gacha RPG isn’t slowing down. In August, player rumblings around Teyvat’s one-year birthday plans began due to perceived greed coming from Mihoyo. In September, fan reactions intensified when they began to examine the Genshin Bomb, other Mihoyo titles, and games that had absolutely nothing to do with the whole debacle. It turned into a giant mess, and the developer shared a statement with TheGamer saying they are “paying close attention” to the situation.
Mihoyo’s beloved roster of characters continues to fuel his growing popularity. In 2020, Geo Archon Zhongli sent the community scrambling over his banner – despite early complaints around his kit – and the more recent Raiden Shogun debuted with similar fanfare.
Genshin Impact’s next update, Into the Perilous Labyrinth of Fog, launches on October 13. Version 2.2 will continue Mihoyo’s trend of regularly adding content by bringing Tsurumi Island to Teyvat, along with Thoma’s Banner, new seasonal events, and new hangouts.
