Rumors have surfaced that Bungie and NetEase can join together to create a Destiny mobile game. NetEase Games recently helped Bungie create “an unannounced FPS mobile game” and unnamed sources claim it’s been a Destiny game that’s been in development for a few years already.
Create a Destiny mobile game
A NetEase artist recently posted that he helped develop “an unannounced FPS mobile game.” According to The Game Post (thanks to Reddit), sources with knowledge of NetEase’s development plans claim that this title is a Destiny mobile game that has already been in development for “well over two years”. This follows rumors about the game several months ago after job postings surfaced that Bungie wanted to recruit several team members for a major mobile title in the Destiny franchise. Game details are thin on the ground, but it’s not believed to be Destiny 2 related. previous jobs, but whether the engine will be used for this game is uncertain.
The collaboration shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise given that NetEase invested over $100 million in Bungie in 2019. At the time of the investment, Bungie CEO Pete Parsons said NetEase “also has a significant track record in mobile, we don’t have any” and he was “very excited about the future where we start to incubate and explore new ideas”. Bungie is also looking to expand the Destiny franchise into films and TV series after they are acquired. by Sony, but there has been no official news on Destiny media projects yet.
