Labyrinth City: Pierre the Maze Detective is the latest title from developer Darjeeling, a beautiful puzzle game based on the comics “Pierre the Maze Detective” by Japanese artist Hirofumi Kamigaki and illustration studio IC4DESIGN.
The game is now available on PC via To smoke for just $ 11.99 / € 11.99 and it launches on Nintendo Switch on July 15th. Additionally, the developers revealed that Labyrinth City: Pierre the Maze Detective will debut on Android and iOS devices in Q3 2021.
As the name suggests, the game puts players in the shoes of young detective Pierre as he tracks down the slippery Mr. X through a labyrinthine city. Throughout their journey, players will encounter intricate NPCs and secret treats. Perhaps one of the game’s main selling points, the hand-crafted environments of artist Hirofumi Kamigaki are the colorful scene of a marathon chase, which is as much about enjoying the scenery as it is about trapping the prey.
The game’s plot is pretty generic, but it’s the journey that counts, not the destination. The Magic Stone of the Maze was stolen from the Opera City Museum by Mr. X, so players must answer the call to find it. Each labyrinth that players must navigate as Peter is littered with hidden secrets, mini-games, and dozens of fun interactions with a variety of citizens.
The game offers over 100 hidden objects and unique trophies to find and interesting puzzles to stimulate your brain. In addition, there are over 500 possible interactions with characters, objects, and background.
If you still have doubts about the quality of Labyrinth City: Pierre the Maze Detective, it should be mentioned that the same team of developers are responsible for Homo Machina and Californium. Additionally, the game has already won awards including the IndieCade 2020 Visual Design Award and the Game Connection Asia 2020 Best Quality of Art Award.
