‘Good Knight’ PC game made by Pinoy wins over Filipino community VTuber

The PC game “Good Knight” made by Pinoy has received a lot of love from its fans since its Early Access release on Steam.

What its chief designers Alex Valdez and Zaid Al-Shaheed didn’t expect, however, is how much it would bring the Filipino VTuber community together in the fun of taking on its challenges.

So far, around 64 Filipino VTubers have played “Good Knight” on their Twitch and YouTube platforms. In gratitude, Valdez and Al-Shaheed compiled their reactions to the game’s hellish difficulty in a video.

“The passionate gaming community has unexpectedly become home to many Filipino VTubers,” said Valdez. “A lot of our audience got interested in Filipino VTubers. So much, in fact, [that] people call our game a gateway to the Filipino VTuber community. “

The popularity of “Good Knight” with local VTubers has led to a mix of the “Good Knight” and VTuber communities.

Valdez himself knew little about the VTubers until they began to express their interest in “Good Knight”.

“The Good Knight community and the VTuber community share a lot and they are extremely healthy,” he said.

For those unfamiliar with the concept, a Virtual YouTuber, or VTuber, is an online content creator who uses a computer-generated character to interact with and entertain their audience.

VTubers first caught the world’s attention in 2016 thanks to Japanese VTuber Kizuna Ai. Since then, VTubers have exploded in popularity all over the world, including the Philippines.

VTubers play a lot of video games for the enjoyment of their fans. With its extremely difficult nature, “Good Knight” elicits a range of entertaining reactions from those who try it out, making it a great game to watch your favorite VTuber game.

“Good Knight” is a mashup of various genres including bullet hell, puzzle, shooter, and arcade. The result? A game that any casual player can learn, but one that will challenge even the most grizzled game veterans. It’s also steeped in Filipino mythology and culture, which is a nice plus.
