Hitman 3 knocked out all of its competition to take home the PC Game of the Year award at this year’s Golden Joystick Awards.
IO Interactive’s latest entry in the long line of assassins picked up the “Assassination World” storyline from the previous two games. Agent 47 returns to take on another murderous adventure across the globe, with levels set in places like Dubai, Berlin and Dartmoor in the UK.
This year’s nominations list has been a great showcase for the diversity of PC releases this year, with Hitman 3 beating the old Skyrim mod The Forgotten City and indie hit Wildermyth.
The full list of nominees was as follows:
- Chivalry 2
- Hitman 3 (winner)
- Old world
- The forgotten city
- Wild myth
In our review, we called Hitman 3 a “good end to the trilogy, with a satisfying conclusion made up of endless enjoyable and entertaining levels.”
“There is something endlessly satisfying about unboxing and mastering Hitman 3’s Groundhog Day playgrounds,” Leon Hurley wrote at the launch. “It should get boring; watch the same guards patrolling their patrols, or the workers at work and the characters roaming the worn out tracks you know so well. But it never gets old. Knowing that there is even the tiniest crack to go through, or a moment to exploit that can leave a target oh so tragically killed is never dulled by the repetition of running and relaunching the storyline like a time traveler who can’t leave. the loop only after having met the right conditions. “
Hitman 3 is out now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
