HOOK 2, the sequel to the classic Zen puzzle game, will launch later this month

Rainbow Train Games, developers of various minimalist themed puzzlers like Klocki, PUSH, and HOOK, have announced a direct sequel to this latest entry with HOOK 2. Originally released in 2015, this one challenged you with puzzles on the topic of, well, hooks. It would be unhooking things, snagging things, all kinds of different situations, and fans were clamoring for more levels. Rather than do that, Rainbow Train Games went the extra mile and made a sequel instead!

It’s a bit difficult to explain the concept of HOOK puzzles beyond that, as they’re very abstract, and all Rainbow Train games are very much about a minimalist aesthetic, with soothing sounds and visuals. Despite this, these puzzles get very intricate and difficult in these later levels, but the zen-like tranquility of it all will have you, if you’ll pardon the pun, addicted to completing all levels in one sitting, if not just to relax and enter a meditative trance.

There are no time limits, no leaderboards, nothing you might find in modern puzzles with stamina systems and all those somewhat intrusive mechanics. No, with HOOK all you get is a collection of relaxing puzzles and maybe a slight dose of stress when things start to get really confusing towards the second half of the games.

The best part of it all is that both HOOK and HOOK 2 are premium experiences and will only require one purchase to own the entire game, plus the planned levels that will be added to HOOK 2 in the near future. When released, it will contain 80 different puzzles to solve, so you’ll already get a lot for your money.

As for the release, it is scheduled for June 29, so you will only have to wait a few days! If you’re looking to get a head start, you can pre-order it now from the App Store. Currently, there’s no word on an Android release.
