How to Use Xbox PC Game Pass on Your Windows PC » GossipChimp

Microsoft Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that provides on-demand access to dozens of video games. It’s amazing value for those looking to play and experience new video games, and now that it’s on pc Instead of being a console-only experience, your subscription can follow you from your Xbox console to your Windows desktop.

However, the growth to Windows PCs has not been seamless. While an Xbox lets you simply access your Game Pass right on the home dashboard, discovering Game Pass games on a PC is a whole different story.

There are two methods to find Game Pass video games on PC. The first and best requires you to get a free app, although I think it will definitely be worth it. The second technique does not require any additional installation, but finding suitable Game Pass video games is more tedious.

First, get PC Game Pass

If you are already a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, congratulations, you already have access to PC Game Pass and you can skip this step. For everyone else, start here.

You can buy a subscription to both PC Game Pass for $9.99 per month or for Game Pass Ultimate for $14.99 per month. The latter is Microsoft’s all-in-one bundle subscription that also includes Xbox Live Gold for online multiplayer on consoles and Game Pass for Xbox One consoles, in addition to PC Game Pass. If you’re a brand new subscriber, know that you can get your first month of PC Game Pass for just $1.

Access Game Pass video games on PC through the Xbox app

This is the best, most user-friendly technique for discovering Game Pass video games that can be played on a PC.

  • First, get the brand new Xbox app from the Microsoft Store on Windows 10 or 11. Go to the Microsoft Store and search for the Xbox app, or find it on this link.

  • Sign in with your Microsoft account. You will be directed to a more luxurious user interface than that provided by Microsoft Store. Even better, it displays Game Pass games on the main screen you see, and unlike the default Store view, anything the Xbox app displays can be run on PC.

Once you’ve installed the games you just want to play, you can launch them through the Xbox app or through a shortcut created during setup.

Access Game Pass video games on PC through Microsoft Store

All PC games that are currently playable on Game Pass can be found in the Microsoft Store, which is on every Windows PC by default — no other crucial setup.

As I mentioned earlier, this is the slightly more complicated technique for locating Game Pass games that work on PC. I like to recommend downloading the Xbox app listed above, but this selection works for those who are in a hurry and don’t want to bother with a purchase.

  • Open the Microsoft Store.
“My Library” shows you an inventory of all your apps and can type in your purchased titles or GamePass
  • On the Store homepage, click the menu button on the lower left of the window, then choose “Library” to see all the apps you simply own.
  • You can then use the filter at the top to show only video games, but this view doesn’t distinguish between purchased games or titles you’ve downloaded through GamePass.
  • This view also contains video games that can only be fully run on the Xbox console. And there is no option to filter the view to make Xbox One video games disappear.

Did I point out that the Xbox app for Windows is just so much better?
