Matthew Lillard to perform Shaggy in “MultiVersus” video game

Warner Bros.

Zoinks! Matthew Lillard, the actor and voice actor who portrayed iconic Shaggy Rogers in both live-action and animated form, is once again returning to the role. When the new movie Scoob! came out last year, he came up with a new voice for Shaggy with Will Forte reprising the role for the apparent reboot. When the cast was first announced, Lillard said at the time that he was rather disappointed that he wasn’t called in to reprise the role.

“On Scoob!, I don’t have a lot of nice things to say, ”said Lillard Entertainment tonight. “I wish them well, I hope the movie works really well. I mean, that was a drag. And I was surprised that it happened. And I think Hollywood is an interesting place and I ‘been at it for a long time. Some of these are easier than others when you don’t get a job, but this one was a bummer. I love playing the part that I kind of like having a legacy and a career that I spent 30 years making. So I love that I was that part, and it was a bummer that it turned out any different. “

This mistake is somewhat rectified by putting Lillard back in the role of Multiversus. The next video game, a platform brawler similar to Super Smash Bros. but along with various characters from the Warner Bros. library, enlisted Shaggy as a playable character to represent the Scooby doo franchise. Shortly after the announcement of Shaggy’s addition, it was also revealed that Matthew Lillard would be voicing the video game character.

In Multiversus, “The multiverse is at your fingertips as you battle in intense 2v2 matches. Against Batman and Shaggy? Try to use Bugs Bunny and Arya Stark! This platform fighter lets you play out your fantastic clashes in fun co-op or one-on-one battle for supremacy.

The game’s confirmed names at the moment include Shaggy, Arya Stark, Batman, Bugs Bunny, Finn the Human, Garnet, Harley Quinn, Jake the Dog, Reindog, Steven Universe, Superman, Tom and Jerry and Wonder Woman. It will be released in 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC.
