Puzzle games can take many different forms, although they are not affected by many different forms. For example, both the warm and fuzzy Wholesome Direct and IGN’s Summer of Gaming had Unpacking to share. This is exactly what you will do there: analyze boxes to decorate through a series of movements and learn about people’s lives.
In this meditative experience, you’ll travel through eight moves for a character you will never be able to see in person. Instead, you’ll see who they are by the things they own and bring, allowing you to sort through both personal effects and memories via your own inferences. It feels like the kind of game you can get lost in, slow down to reflect on your own experiences along the way.
Developer Witch Beam Games is teaming up with Humble Bundle to deliver the game in 2021 on Switch and PC. A demo version can be tried through Steam’s Next Fest, June 16-22.
