Assassin’s Creed Unity is still a graphically stunning PC game after seven years

0

Assassin’s Creed Unity is a game that has pushed the PS4 and Xbox One to their limits. The game was released in 2014 and featured some of the best graphics, especially on PC. And today, after seven full years, the game remains a graphically impressive game on PC in 8K and with Reshade Ray Tracing.

Now, the YouTuber has cleverly hid the game’s LOD issues. In case you didn’t know, the game changes the LOD models of its NPCs right in front of view. Additionally, its distant textures appear blurry due to their low LOD values. There was a LOD fix mod for this, but apparently it works best when taking screenshots (not while playing).

YouTube’s “Beyond The Hype” shared the following video with a realistic ray tracing and 8K reshade mod. The end result is truly amazing and makes Unity look just as good as most modern games.

Other than those issues, however, Assassin’s Creed Unity looks awesome. Its pre-baked lighting is some of the best I have ever seen, and its global illumination solution was amazing. Ironically, the series was never able to match these visuals once it started using a fully dynamic lighting system. Yes, we had a more dynamic lighting / weather system, but the visual presentation took a big hit with this decision. Hell, the following video is more next-gen than Valhalla himself.

The NPD also said Humankind is fifth on the list of best-selling PC games for 2021, behind Outriders, Resident Evil: Village, Sea of Thieves and Halo: The Master Chief. However, analyst Mat Piscatella said in an email that it does not cover all the different PC game showcases.

“Keep in mind, however, that the PC tracking only covers Steam and that some of the best titles on Steam come from publishers outside of the Digital Leader Panel,” he said. “In addition, Take-Two Interactive is part of the Digital Leader Panel and shares its digital sales data, but its digital sales are not included in the top-selling titles rankings.”

Why Bethesda refused the video game version of Game of Thrones for Skyrim

0

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is set to end ten years after its release. Bethesda recently announced the release of an Anniversary Edition of the game and DLC. Skyrim has been one of the most famous games of the past decade and is an integral part of the game’s history for its incredible visuals and nostalgia.

It might not be known to the majority of people, but Bethesda has also been given a chance to turn George RR Martin’s Game of Thrones into a game series instead of Skyrim. Players would have loved an RPG translation of Game of Thrones, given that it has been portrayed in several other forms of media, including a TV series. But Bethesda did not seize the opportunity.

Bethesda chooses Skyrim over possible Game of Thrones RPG

EGMi: The Digital Magazine reported that Bethesda was initially approached to create games based on Martin’s novels. Of course, this news had thrilled fans of the franchise, and Bethesda was more than happy to embark on this project and accepted it as a challenge.

Todd Howard, Director of Bethesda Games, says: “With A Song of Ice and Fire, we said ‘We want to do this!’, he adds again, “The people in our studio liked it, and it kinda crept into what we were doing” as cited by VG247.

However, the impending problem was the development of Skyrim. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was in its progressive stages of development, and doing a similar series would kill its chance to flourish in the gaming industry.

Howard explains this by saying, “We wanted to make our world. This is where we wanted to spend time. Before we even did Skyrim, there was a conversation with the folks at George RR Martin. They thought it would be a good game – and so did we – but then we wondered if this was where we wanted to spend our time. It was tempting, however.

While we can’t see a Bethesda RPG version of Game of Thrones, a Telltale version of the novel series does exist. Released in 2014, this game has been fairly well received within the gaming community.

‘The Geography’ is an ambient video game colored by disaster

0
Geography- Screenshot 2

Screenshots of ‘The Geography’ courtesy of Michael Berto and Titouan Millet

A collection of mountains whose contours sway in the distance, their shadows shimmering like seeds, and a floating generative soundtrack unique to each game session.

Based on this description, Geography, now for computer, ios and Android devices, may remind you of other minimalist video games like Mountain and Mu cartographer, titles where you mainly press a few buttons and soak up the view you are watching. This is true for Geography; clicking or touching the top of the screen cycles through various panoramas, and you can change their color by interacting with the bottom. On the right side of the screen are five small buttons that allow you to soak up the serene music of the game.

When I think of these other games, they’re like chill out zones that exist almost only in the digital ether. Geography, on the other hand, has an explicit connection to the real world. Touching the upper right corner invokes text that explains how the mountains you are looking at are rendered from real-world terrain data from around the Svalbard Global Seed Vault. If you do not know the project, the Global Safe is a vast seed library on an island in the Arctic Circle, a so-called ‘Noah’s Ark’ of agricultural diversity designed to safely store over 4.5 million crop samples. If disaster should strike the planet, it will help us to rebuild it.

InstrumentInterface.png

It’s smart framing. Without this, Geography would be nice if it was a little insignificant, a good companion for leisurely work around the house, or perhaps a pocket oasis on a busy commute. But with the Svalbard Global Seed Vault looming in my mind, I find it hard not to contemplate the crisis. The large empty environments in the game make me wonder, “What would the end of civilization really look like?” It should be noted that this is almost the opposite of what game creator Michael Berto thinks of the Global Seed Vault. In the accompanying text, he writes how “the concept of preservation, of erecting a monolith to protect the natural world, is magnificent”. I agree, but the idea of a scenario where we actually have to use the safe fills me with real dread.

Judging by Berto’s description of the game, Geography was designed to facilitate these varied experiences. It is, both, for “meditation, relaxation, jubilation, contemplation, creative thinking, passive enjoyment, idle play, self-care, sleep and / or dreaming”. For me, the contemplative landscape of the game is colored by disaster, and more compelling for it.

BMO Downgrades Take-Two (TTWO) to Market Performance After Series of Video Game Release Delays

Shares of Take-Two Interactive Software (NASDAQ: TTWO) are down more than 1% after BMO analyst Gerrick Johnson downgraded to Market Perform from Outperform following a series of exit delays from video games.

Delays are now becoming “an increasingly baffling trend,” Johnson says, as investors are already worried about the decline in video game consumption as the world comes out of COVID restrictions. China also presents some risk.

“Stricter restrictions on online video games in China for children under 18 could affect TTWO more than the other companies we cover. While TTWO generates less than 3% of net bookings from China, it is seen as a growth opportunity. TTWO has always called NBA 2K Online in China as a significant contributor to its bottom line. It’s the number one online PC sports game in China, with nearly 55 million registered users in the country, ”Johnson wrote in a customer note.

Additionally, analyst sees heightened regulatory risk after California Department of Fair Employment and Housing files legal action against Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ: ATVI)

“We anticipate that the entire video game industry will come under intense scrutiny in the future. In situations like this, we would expect content from TTWO’s Grand Theft Auto games, which many find objectionable, to become a lightning rod for critics.

As a result, the analyst also lowered the price target to $ 150.00 per share, from $ 215.00 previously.

Why “Deathloop” is a must-have video game for any PS5 owner

0

If you’ve been patiently waiting for a killer new PS5 game, Death loop has arrived and that’s all you could ask for and more.

In addition, we also check Sound colors: ultimate, Life is Strange: True Colors, Aliens: Fireteam Elite and experience Turtle Beach’s new Recon controller.

Death loop (PS5, PC)

Let’s get right to the point. Death loop is really excellent and you should definitely buy it if you have a PS5 or a PC.

Trapped on the mysterious island of Blackreef in the middle of a deadly time loop, Death loop throws a lot of it at you pretty quickly. There’s talk of slabs, visionaries, trinkets and more, but it’s to developer Arkane’s credit that the game leads you forward with a pretty steady hand.

At the end of the day, however, you find yourself with a job to do: take out eight key targets in a single day. That said, how you go about it is subject to debate. It is this experimentation that is perhaps Death loopstrongest asset, giving you a wealth of tools to choose from.

Do you want to take a sneaky approach by teleporting into environments and becoming completely invisible, or causing sheer destruction by chain attacks on multiple enemies? Personally, we preferred a bit of both, always prepared for when things go wrong… unless we die. And oh how many times we’ve died.

But die in Death loop is never a terrible thing. Rather, it gives you the opportunity to take what you’ve learned from previous “races” and apply it in new and interesting ways. You will have learned new paths and more enemy models that will make you stronger and faster. In no time at all, you’ll be passing through places that hours ago felt like they were walking on eggshells.

Do you like the game?

For PS5 players, Death loop is a bittersweet version given that Microsoft now owns the team behind the scenes. But this is one more reason to embark on this stellar adventure immediately. He will definitely be in the talks for the Game of the Year without a shadow of a doubt.

Sound colors: ultimate (PS4, XBO, Switch)

As a remaster, Sound colors: ultimate it ticks all the right boxes. Everything is much more pleasing to the eyes while the gameplay is noticeably smoother. More importantly, however, it presents gamers with a fairly neglected Sonic game that has stuck on the Wii for far too long for our liking.

Colors Also remains one of the best entries in the series lately – the alien-type “Wisps” help keep each level frantic and fresh. If you’ve been a longtime fan of the Blue Blur, there’s arguably less reason to invest in this upgrade, but it’s worth it for anyone with a serious need for speed.

Sonic Colors Ultimate is available through Amazon.

Life is Strange: True Colors (PS5, Xbox Series X / S, PS4, XBO, PC)

The Life is strange franchise has been a silent success since its launch and True colors continues this success. Alex Chen’s powers of empathy are a lot less flashy than rewinding time or telekinesis, but it’s a move that almost seems to allow for a more personal story this time around as Alex tries to cope with the loss of his brother. The story is backed up by the finest visuals to date and a stellar soundtrack that obviously includes Angus and Julia Stone.

Interesting way, True colors is the first of the series to integrate all five episodes at a time. However, our recommendation is to always take a short break between each. This allows the story to breathe a little more and will help you feel confident in some of your decisions. You will not regret it.

Life is Strange True Colors is available through Amazon.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite (PS5, Xbox Series X / S, PS4, XBO, PC)

Fighting your way out of a dangerous space environment littered with Xenomorphs is rarely unpleasant and Aliens: squad known. Add some friends by your side and you have a blast.

There is a great variety Fireteam EliteThe different classes and abilities of, as well as the unlocking of a new weapon are always satisfactory. Audio also does well for embracing the classic Extraterrestrial vibrate and reinforce the feeling of dread for which the films are so known.

It’s definitely not a perfect adventure – some environments can look quite similar and the number of enemies in some hordes can be overwhelming and endless. But we have to admit that there is still a lot to like here. Aliens: Fireteam Elite is perfect if your group of gamers are looking for something new, especially with a cheaper price than most PS5 / Series X games.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is available through Amazon.

Getting Started with the Turtle Beach Recon Controller

If you’re a kid of the ’90s, you know there is an old stigma about third-party controllers. Faulty sticks, mooshy buttons – getting stuck with one of those duds at a buddy’s house was an almost guaranteed knockout. Well, we’re here to tell you to forget the past and embrace the present because Turtle Beach’s Recon Controller is such a treat.

Designed for use with Xbox and PC, the Recon Controller taps into the meat and potatoes of Turtle Beach’s expertise: audio. You see, the Recon not only lets you throw in any old pair of 3.5mm headphones / mic, but it gives you full control over your sound settings. With a number of nifty buttons on the front of the controller, you can manage game and chat volume independently without ever having to hide in a boring menu. You also have easy access to the mute functionality, four equalizer settings and “Superhuman Hearing” which makes it easier for you to hear fine details like in-game footsteps.

As a long-time loath to wade through Xbox menus, the Recon was an absolute gem and worked from the get-go. It’s also great news for budget-conscious gamers who don’t want to shell out hundreds of dollars for a decent headset with customizable controls.

Meanwhile, while the Recon is unlikely to win any beauty pageants, it feels surprisingly good in the hands. The bumpers have strong indentations on the top, the rear paddles are easily accessible, and the rubber-coated grips are a nice change of pace that feels surprisingly good in the palms of your hands. It’s even surprisingly light, which was unexpected and can take some getting used to if you normally prefer a bit of weight to your controllers.

But despite the Recon’s flexibility, it’s worth noting its only downside – the wires. Yes, unfortunately the Recon controller needs to be plugged in to work, and although the cord is thankfully long, it will be a snap for some.

Ultimately, the Recon controller won’t be right for everyone, but if you’re looking for a device that offers a bit of originality and customization, it’s worth a look.
