Microsoft has released a list of seven Humble Games releases that will arrive on its PC Game Pass subscription service on day one, with Stardew Valley-like Coral Island the pick of the bunch. With Midnight Fight Express already on Game Pass, what else can we expect in the coming months?
A partnership between Humble Games and Xbox Game Pass seems like a perfect match – independent developers get a guaranteed income from their creations and, perhaps more importantly, a guaranteed audience. Here are the six other games that have been announced for Game Pass:
- Lunar scars – September 27
- Coral Island – October 11
- ghost song – November 3
- Infinite Guitars – TBD, 2022
- Producer – TBD, 2022
- Signalis – to be determined
As a recovering Stardew Valley addict, I’m both excited and a little scared about Coral Island. The prospect of a relaxed gameplay loop is something that is hugely appealing, and Stairway Games‘ description strikes me as quite apt:
“Leave the big city life behind in Pokyo and start a new chapter of your life on Coral Islandcoming October 11. Be whoever you want and create the idyllic farm of your dreams, where you’ll tend crops, feed animals and connect with nature in this reimagined farm simulation from Stairway games.
Prodeus also looks interesting; a version of the FPS genre, but from around 20 years ago. Big pixels and big guns, a self-proclaimed “Boomer Shooter”. I’m not sure my reflexes are quite the same as when I played Quake 3 Arena, but I’m ready to put myself to the test when it releases later this year.
Be sure to check out this guide for all the info on the whereabouts of Game Pass. If you haven’t already subscribed to the service, here are all the reasons why you need it. The value of the service seems to increase every time I load it; this week I played Norman Reedus at no extra charge. Perfect.
