Ubisoft+ is also coming to Xbox in the future
One of the first big releases of the year will launch on Game Pass. Today, Microsoft and Ubisoft confirmed that Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction will be a day one addition to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass when it launches on January 20.
The cooperative PvE game featuring operators from the rainbow six the universe will be playable on Game Pass via console, PC and the cloud. Although originally slated to launch last year, Rainbow Six Mining has been delayed to 2022 to allow more time to bring its co-op stealth shooter action to life.
As part of today’s announcement, Ubisoft has also confirmed that its Ubisoft+ subscription service will also be coming to Xbox consoles. Ubisoft+ is already on PC, providing access to a catalog of games and cosmetic rewards from the publisher for a monthly subscription. However, no date has been set for the arrival of the service on the console.
For rainbow six fans, there are more too. Rainbow Six Siegepopular PvP rainbow six experience, will also be coming to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on January 20. And if you play both Seat and Extractionyou will unlock epic gear to use.
That’s a pretty hefty deal to start the year for Game Pass. Alongside January’s Xbox Game Pass additions, which include both heavy hitters like Mass Effect: Legendary Edition and memorable indies like GorogoaMicrosoft is making a strong first impression for 2022.
For Ubisoft, the publisher currently has a number of multiplayer games in the works. Rainbow Six Mining is quite notable though, building on the popularity Seat has been built over the years. Ubisoft has always come under scrutiny for its handling of 2020 reports, and a recent report described a “great exodus” as the publisher saw notable revenue.
With Game Pass, it looks like Xbox and PC subscribers will have at least one easy way to try out Extraction go out and see if the sci-fi co-op takes the Seat the universe is something they love. Rainbow Six Mining will launch on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as PC, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna on January 20, 2022.
