The Division Resurgence is the new mobile game from Ubisoft

We knew that Ubisoft was planning to make a mobile game for its third-person shooter RPG franchise Tom Clancy’s The Division. Today the gaming giant officially announced Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence, a free game coming to iOS and Android.

Like the first game, Resurgence is set in New York City after a viral outbreak, but with a new, standalone storyline. Ubisoft has confirmed that Resurgence will offer “a unique perspective on the key story events that took place” in both The Division and its sequel, The Division 2, which launched in 2019.

Like the first two installments, Tom Clancy’s The Division will allow players to explore an open world where they can move freely while protecting civilians from members of hostile factions. Players will have the option to play solo or with friends via co-op. Those interested in participating in future tests can register now.

Resurgence isn’t the only game from The Division universe currently in development. Last year, Ubisoft announced The Division: Heartland, a free-to-play game from Tom Clancy’s original developer Red Storm Entertainment, which will launch on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. While Heartland was originally slated to launch in the 2021-2022 window, Ubisoft quietly delayed the game to October 2021.
