The Seen the movie franchise has two links to video games; Zombie Studios and Konami brought the first Seen game on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in 2009, and the second game – Saw II: Flesh and Blood – followed on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 the following year. Eleven years have passed without another Seen games being released, but Mark Burg and Oren Koules, founders of Twisted Pictures and producers of Seen franchise, assured fans that a third game “will be 100%.”
That assurance came during a recent Reddit AMA session the duo participated in. When asked if there were any plans for the future Seen video games, they replied:
100%. Lionsgate has brought us some amazing projects that we are currently exploring. But it will happen 100%.
I was only vaguely aware that there had already been a Seen Game. These have mostly gone under my radar, but now I’m curious to see what a Seen the video game is actually like. According to Soon, Seen: the video game and Seen II: Flesh & Blood “weren’t well received,” so apparently it’s no surprise that it took some time for a third set to be made. It also didn’t help that the movie franchise was on hiatus by the time the second game was released.
The Seen film franchise currently consists of nine films. The first seven were released on an annual basis between 2004 and 2010. After a seven-year hiatus, Lionsgate released the sequel. Jigsaw, and earlier this year we had the spin-off Spiral: From the Book of Saw.
We will keep you posted as soon as there is more news on another Seen video game – and, of course, every time we hear there’s another movie on the way.
