Since the arrival of Insomniac Games with Spider Man in 2018 for the PS4, Marvel did their best to create a resume of bestselling AAA games. They were mostly good – Spider-Man: Miles Morales was pretty good, and Spider-man 2 good should be good enough too; the guardians of the galaxy Game starting this week has been a pleasant surprise – and now the publisher has a new developer in his pocket.

Yesterday, Marvel announced partnership with the New Media division of Skydance which will see the creation of a new action-adventure game based on another Marvel character. New Media will be led by its president Amy Hennig, who gamers will know as the author of the Kain’s legacy series and as creative director and screenwriter for the first three of Naughty Dog Unexplored Games. (She is also the author of Square Enix Sorry, release next spring.)

In a press release, Hennig expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership. “The Marvel Universe embodies all the action, mystery and thrill of the pulp adventure genre that I love and lends itself perfectly to an interactive experience. It’s an honor to be able to tell an original story with all the people involved. he humanity, complexity and humor that make Marvel’s characters so enduring and empower our players to be those heroes they love.

The new game will be a “hit story-driven action-adventure game,” which largely appears to be the bread and butter of this new wave of Marvel games. Already, fans are speculating on who will be the next hero to have a single-player game. A popular choice so far seems to be Daredevil, a hero who inevitably is high when you talk about Marvel media.

Whoever the main hero (or heroes) end up being for this new game, they will have a lot of eyes on them when it is finally announced. But at least we know one thing about it: former io9 guy Evan Narcisse will be involved, so that should be good when it finally hits consoles and PCs.
