Want to know what’s happening in the Warcraft universe this year? Well, it looks like Blizzard has you covered, as they’ve announced a slew of reveals for the next two months, including new World of Warcraft and Hearthstone expansions, and a new Warcraft mobile game (flag the “You don’t don’t have phones?” memes now).
Next week, we’ll get a major Hearthstone info dump, including details on this year’s first expansion and more general details on what to expect in 2022.
On March 15, the Hearthstone development team will share details for the first of three expansions this year. Shortly after, they’ll give a more in-depth look at Hearthstone’s plans for 2022, including annual changes to the base set.
After that, Blizzard will share details of the next World of Warcraft expansion. As for what this expansion might entail, well, Blizzard is keeping quiet for now.
On April 19, the World of Warcraft development team will unveil the next expansion. We’re excited to show you what we’ve been working on and where your adventures in Azeroth will unfold next.
Finally, Blizzard also promises to unveil its “first game in the Warcraft universe made for mobile” in May. Again, few details were provided. Could it be a mobile version of classic Warcraft strategy games? Or something more awkward (some have speculated a Pokemon-Go-esque experience)? We’ll just have to wait and see.
The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) has filed a lawsuit against Activision Blizzard, alleging widespread gender discrimination and sexual harassment at the Call of Duty publisher. You can get more details about this unfolding story here.
